Beijing welcomes Honduran statement on ties with China

China welcomes Honduran President Xiomara Castro's statement on seeking to establish diplomatic relations with China, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a regular news conference, Wang said China is willing to develop friendly relations with other countries, including Honduras, on the basis of the one-China principle.

The fact 181 countries have established diplomatic relations with China based on the one-China principle shows it is the correct choice consistent with the times, he said.
