China strongly opposes the United States adding seven Chinese entities into the so-called entity list for export control, according to Shu Jueting, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.

The US side should immediately stop its wrong practice. China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and institutions.

"The US repeatedly generalized the concept of national security to abuse measures such as export control and used state power to suppress and contain companies and institutions of other countries, including the seven Chinese entities," she said.

"What it has done has severely harmed the normal economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and US enterprises, seriously undermined market rules and the international economic and trade order, and gravely threatened the stability of the global industrial and supply chains," she said.
