Chinese leader talks with British PM over phone

BEIJING — President Xi Jinping spoke over the phone with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Friday.

China welcomes more imports of quality products from the UK and hopes to expand cooperation with the UK in healthcare, green development, digital economy, finance and innovation, said Xi.

China hopes the UK could treat Chinese enterprises in a fair and just way, said the Chinese leader, adding that China will also facilitate cooperation for UK companies.

He reiterated China's determination on speeding up development in a green and low-carbon way.

China upholds the principle of the common but differentiated responsibilities in responding to climate change, Xi said.
