Meeting giant pandas

"A Date with China" 2023 international media tour visited the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Southwest China's Sichuan province on Saturday.

To date, the research base, established in 1987, has successfully bred and raised 237 captive giant pandas, making it the world's largest artificial breeding population for the protection of giant pandas.

The base currently has 24 giant pandas participating in international scientific research collaborations in six countries, namely Japan, the United States, Spain, France, Germany, and Denmark.
