MACAO – All members of the seventh Legislative Assembly of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) were sworn in on Saturday and Kou Hoi In was re-elected as its president.

Ho Iat Seng, chief executive of the Macao SAR, administered the swearing-in ceremony. The legislators swore to uphold and implement the Basic Law of the Macao SAR as well as allegiance to the Macao SAR so as to serve the SAR wholeheartedly.

The seventh Legislative Assembly held its first plenary session on Saturday afternoon and elected its president, vice president, first secretary and second secretary.

Kou Hoi In, president of the sixth Legislative Assembly, was reelected president of the seventh Legislative Assembly.

The election of the seventh Legislative Assembly was held on Sept 12, with 14 candidates winning the directly-elected seats, and 12 winning the indirectly-elected seats. The chief executive of the Macao SAR appointed seven other members.

The term of office of the seventh Legislative Assembly is four years.
