BEIJING – Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday congratulated Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo on his re-election as Equatorial Guinean president.
In his message, Xi said China and Equatorial Guinea are comprehensive cooperative partners. In recent years, the two countries have deepened political mutual trust, conducted fruitful practical cooperation in various fields and supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns, he said.

Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Equatorial Guinea relations and would like to work with President Obiang to push bilateral relations to a new level for the benefit of the two countries and their people.
